Rio Grande Bulge At Nets Expands
CAPE MAY - Rio Grande Building Supplies strengthened its hold on first place in the coed recreation volleyball league by taking three of four games against the Ugly Mug. The Mug's only win came in the second game by a score of 15-8. Rio Grande took its three games 15-13, 15-11 and 15-8. The play of Margie Franco and Fran Vogefled Rip Grande in the first game despite the nice serves of Sue McKee of Ugly Mug to its only win in the second game. 'Pete's Racquet Club, after losing the first game 15-4 over Kona Realty, came back to win the final three games by scores of 15-5, 15-8 and 15-2. Soccer Day Camp Planned for July
ERMA — Under the sponsorship of the City of Cape May, Star Soccer Academy, formerly Fever Soccer Camps, for the fifth consecutive year, will conduct a soccer day camp at the Richard M. Teitelman School here July 8-12. The day camps will include five days of instruction, Monday through Friday, fraft) a.m. to 3 p.m., for boys and girls 6 through 17. The academy is under the direction of USSF "A" license and national staff ''oach. Skip Roderick, and captain of the Baltimore Blast Dave MacWilliams. Skip, a former professional soccer player in the ASL, NASL, and MISL, is currently the head soccer coach at Elizabethtown College. THEY HAVE assembled a coaching staff featuring many of their former professional teammates. Many of these players are looking for families to house them for the week. In return, camp tuition will be free to children of the first eight interested families. Five dollars will be deducted from the camp's
tuition fee for those who register before May 15. The tuition will include a soccer ball, a Patrick soccer jersey, camper insurance, special camp awards, soccer films, camp posters, Gatorgum, a USSF soccer patch, "wet energy" drink, and a soccer skills manual. CAMPERS CAN also look forward to the Coca Cola Cup, Side Kick Soccer, and a Parent's Night. As an added bonus, all campers are eligible to win a free trip to Ireland. The soccer camp's philosophy is to have fun in a learning environment, to teach players a sense of achievement, and to develop the total person as a soccer player. Campers will be grouped according to size, age and skill level.
