Tolan Outfit Passes Test • NORTH W1LDWOOD - Marine Lance Cpl Kevin T. Tolan. son of Ruth Tolan of 239 E. Second Ave., is a member of "H" Battery. 3rd Battalion, 10th Marines. 2nd Marine Division. based at Camp LeJeune, N.C. The Battery recently completed the last of its Marine Corps readiness evaluations, ending a rigorous six-month training cycle. Tolan's battery spent part of the test aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Saipan. The rest of the test was spent practicing ship-to-shore movement of artillery pieces off Onslow Beach at Camp LeJeune. By passing the evaluations, "H" Battery has been certified as a deploy able unit.

COURT HOUSE - College students interested in careers in medicine will again be offered a Pre-Med Summer Orientation at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Opportunities will include observation in various hospital departments including nprsing, emergency, radiology, and surgery. Program director Robert Beitman. M.D.. will offer students the experience of accompanying him on hospital rounds and at his office practice. Hospital administrators will provide orientation regarding the multiple factors involved in providing high quality care. REQUIREMENTS for the program, which extends from June 24 to Aug. 9. include a registration fee. a program fee. and four hours a week of volunteer service scheduled at the student's convenience.
