Gordon Ball, ubiquitous purchasing agent for the City of Wildwood, would like all "Islanders" (and for that matter anybody who is interested) to know that the City of Wildwood will host two auctions Wednesday. May . Auction No l, to be held at | the parking lot behind Maxwell Field, will consist of ■ motor vehicles, scrap metal, 1 and other large pieces of equipment. The auction will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. with inspection privileges beginning at 9:30 a.m. Auction No 2. will be held at the Wildwood Rec Center on Rio Grande Avenue just west of Atlantic Avenue. Auction No. 2 will begin pro)D mptly at 1:30 p.m. and you may inspect the variety of merchandise from noon to auction time. The "Rec Center Auction" will include many household articles, televison sets, musical instruments, and assorted "stuff". Little League Field between Aster and Crocus on Atlantic Avenue and are scheduled for Sunday afternoons throughout the summer. It is an excellent league in which to introduce your child to the fundamentals of baseball and team play. THIS YEAR. Yours Truly will be co-directing the league with Tom SJnsheimer. last year's director. With this "double team" effort, it should be an extremely efficient, wellorganized season. of the season Amy Gallagher. 7th grade student at Margaret Mace School in North Wildwood. recently received praise for her participation in the Teenarts Festival. While her piano solo drew attention, it was Amy's outstanding ar- ' tisic ability that attracted comments of praise and appreciation. Amy's pencil sketch entitled "A Lone Tree" and her painting of "The Purple Mountain Mystery"; were so extraordinary for one just 13 years old, that many viewers perceived an incredible talent in the making. Obviously the "right" people were also impressed, as Amy was awarded a summer scholarship to Moore College of Art in E Mb i accomplishment for one so

II This was the seconB^ear that the Dancers performed y for the audience watching s the telethon, and their tap - dance rendition of "Tea for Two" was enjoyed by all. The ensemble included Nan- - cy Alexander. Kim Ball. Brenda Dietz. Christine McWilliams. Michelle Potts. i Bobbi Jo Taylor. Megan Traber. KoFen Schoenlever. and Tracy Warmkessel. This talented troupe of tappers are all students in the Wildwood Recretaion Center's Dance Program under the direction of Ray. The dance, program, which is open to both adults and students, is one of the most popular recreation activities. i activities. *

Dragon House has reopened. Somebody has finally bought the fire-ravaged mess once called Oscar's and that is very good ! The Laughing Gulls have returned, the "Blues" are on their way, the Horseshoe Crabs can be found everywhere. Rumor even has it that the weekly entertainment paper "Shout" will soon hit the streets for yet another season. It must be spring!
