N. W'wood Slates Two Paving Jobs

NORTH WILDWOOD - » City Engineer. Ralph Petrella, has announced two scheduled road improvement projects which will begin after Labor Day The first project is the completion of Surf Avenue, for which the city is receiving a state grant in the amount of $143,195. The southern portion of Surf Avenue was resurfaced several years ago; the new project will complete both sides of the northern half of the 70-foot wide avenue. THE SECOND project announced by Petrella was the completion of New York Avenue, which is in poor condition from 10th to 26th Avenues. The project, which will cost $210,000,000. is the first work done on New York Avenue since 1974. Petrella assured Mayor Lewis G. Vinci that all residents along New York and Surf Avenues will be invited -Id an information session which will coincide with pre-construction conferences. CCC Holding Career Day

Midlantic Acquires Heritage

EDISON — Midlantic Banks Inc. has completed its acquisition of Heritage Bancorporation. The announcement was made by Robert Van Burep, Midlantic's chairman and chief executive officer; Rodney Leeds Jr., chairman of Heritage; and S. Griffin McClellan III. president of Heritage. Midlantic 's assets now total more than $9 billion, which places the company among the top 40 banking companies in the United States. With this acquisition, Midlantic now has nearly 300 offices, doubling the number of branches in southern New Jersey and complementing Midlantic's northern New Jersey presence.

LEEDS AND McClellan stated, "We are pleased to join Midlantic and believe i that the consolidation will benefit not only our customers, but our employes as well. Gas FOLSOM — South Jersey Gas Co., was recently awarded the American Gas Association 's top marketing achievement award in the residential category during the 1985 AGA Marketing Conference in Minneapolis. MN. Patrick T. Finnigan, manager, marketing services, accepted the award for the company^ marketing/advertising campaign entry titled. "Natural Gas Is Better" The campaign was prepared by marketing department members in conjunction with a Cherry Hill advertising firm. South Jersey Gas Company's 1984 marketing program featured rebates and special financing as incentives for the use of high efficiency gas appliances. SJG was one of three companies to win the award in the residential category in which over 90 natural gas utilities throughout the United States competed. SJG serves approximately 163,000 customers throughout a seven-county area "in southern New Jersey that includes all of Atlantic. Cape May. Cumberland and Salem counties and portions or Burlington. Cafnden and Gloucester counties.
