Here's Dolly By Dolly Stango J

I know everyone wants to know about Jamie Fiocca. Here it is: He's doing well. In fact, Jamie's now out of his plastic enclosure and in a private room. His biggest ordeal now is that he has to consume 3,000 calories per day and that he finds very difficult to do after not having much of anything except intravenous feedings. I wish it were possible for me to do it forJiim. Imagine two milkshakes per day with a meal of spaghetti, pizza, etc., — oh Jamie, how about some outside * help? SERIOUSLY, there's never been anything like the way this whole town and out-of-towners too, responded to the call for help for Jamie. At the recent Beef and Beer Bash in Cape May Convention Hall, over $16,000 was raised. Jamie's nurses. Betsy Kauffman and Cindy Tate, two RNs came all the way from Children's Htftpital in Philadelphia, and they're . beautiful too! Charles Pessagno of National Associates, along with his vice president, Greg Coffey. Paul Bogle of Fudge Kitchen, Bob Matthews, owners of the Ugly Mug, Bill Leahy of the Klothes Kove, and other merchants along the MaH, were literally worked to the bone. HERE'S A note I received from Bill Murphy: "Dear Dolly:- Due to another commitment we are sorry we couldn't make the festival for Jamie. Will you see that Jamie receives the "Coke Sail Boat" which I enjoyed making for him. Please point out the U.S. Navy Anchor is my personal 10-years service pin. Also explain to Jamie it is one of a kind and the only one in Cape May — I promise. Sincerely yours, Bill Murphy. P.S. Since it is the month of "Mary" — I made a

grotto and dedicated it in honor of Jamie. I have a vigil light in front of Mary burning every night. If anyone drives by, I hope they say a Hail Mary for Jamie." Location of grotto: corner of Reading and Cape May Avenues in Cape May. I have turned over the sailboat to Jamie's grandmother, Mrs. Mollie Kazlouskus — but I wanted *to give you pil the details. He's listed in the Gracewood State School and Hospital Bulletin, where he is pic-

tured doing in-service volunteer work in the center's communication module with patients, some confined to wheelchairs. Congratulations, Adrian, for your good work. Adrian's parents are Rita and Walter Weis, now making their home in Augusta. Ga., but also visiting Cape May whenever they can. CONGRATULATIONS, to Sister Thaddeus of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, on her 50th celebration. A special Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church l p.m. Saturday. Sister Thaddeus teaches at Star of the Sea School. Gwenne Fritz of the Atlas Motor Inn never forgets her friends. She is now in the process of introducing as many as possible of the late Harry Salt's friends to his wife, Mrs. Ruth Salt, who is now active in the business since her husband's passing. It's surely a pleasant way to remind their friends that they care and indeed, Harry Satt will never be forgotten. Quilt and Decoy Show and Sale at the MidAtlantic Center for the Arts is May 25 and 26 in Convention Hall. Now's the time to sell some of your quilts or decoys, or perhaps buy some more! VICTORIAN FAIR is Saturday. June 29, on the grounds of the Physick Estate. You can obtain booth space to sell your wares. It's a real fun day. Designers are saying that the latest from Italy and Paris is "it's all in the shape". ..large jackets, skinny skirts, some very daring evening wear, and stripes everywhere! Seems odd to say at this time, but I'll have the fall predictions here for you *• next time.
