Middle 'Clean Up' Under Way
COURT HOUSE - The Middle Township Chamber of Commerce has initiated a campaign to motivate citizens to "clean up" and develop pride in the community. The campaign consists of two major activities to involve both youth and adults. A Poster Art and Coloring Contest is available for all Middle Township students grades K-8. Prizes will be awarded at each grade level for outstanding entries. All overall "Best In Show" Prizes will be awarded at each grade level for outstanding entries. An overall "Best in Shows" prize of a $50 savings bond will go to the student with the best entry. Prize-winning entries will be on display throughout the Township during the county-wide Clean Up Week May 19-25. A CLEAN UP day is scheduled for Saturday. Groups will be organized at 8 p.m. in the Municipal Parking lot on the corner of Boyd and Mechanic Streets here to canvas the township and pick up trash at several locations. Equipment for clean-up will be provided. The groups will complete their efforts at 1 p.m. and a free lunch sponsored by Court House Pizza will be provided for all participants. According to Frank Ross, president of the chamber.
"Area businesses have also been contacted to support the efforts through distributing flyers, advertising and where possible sponsoring special sales on 'Clean Up' equipment. We're hoping that everyone in Middle Township will become involved to help in this campaign." Clubs and organizations as well as interested individuals are welcome to take part.
