Conrad H. Betsch, 78, of Fishing Creek, May 13. He was retired as a chief fitter in the Navy as well as a maintenance man for the Matawan Board of Education. Hilda Binns, 88, of Wildwood Crest, May 15. A retired owner and operator of the Hotel Binns in Wildwood, she was a soloist in the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 118. She belonged to the Wildwood Civic Club and the Schumann Club. Emma C. Dallison, 92, of Villas. May 14. A retired nurse from Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, she was a member of the Cape May Chapter 156, Order of the Eastern Star.^ Arnold B. Dent, 30, of Woodbine, May 11 in an auto accident. He was buried in Woodbine Cemetery. H. Dalcord Errickson, 71, « of Woodbine, May 15. Retired oysterboard captain of the "Ann-Yates," he was a local resident for 27 years. Enos Garrison, 85, of Mayville, May 16. A retired dredge operator for the Tuckahoe Sand and Gravel Co., he was a lifelong area resident. James W. Handy, 77, of Ocean City, May 17. Born in Millville, he was retired from Armstrong Cork there. Paul W. Hayes, 92, of Corbin City, May 15. Born in Cape May, he was formerly an Ocean City resident where he owned and operated a grocery store and a laundromat until retirement. Marie B. Hoffman. 93, of North Cape May, May 16. She was a lifelong area resident and served as Ladies Aide of the Rio Grande Bible Church.
George J. Hooven. 68, of Nofth Cape May, May 13. A retired Philadelphia police officer, he was an Army veteran of World War II. Caroline K. Huf, 79, of Ocean City, May 17. Born in Philadelphia, she was a longtime area resident. Konstantin Kovjl, 92, of* Wildwood, May 17. Born in \ Kiev, Russia, he was a retired carpenter with Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia. Victor D. LoRusso, 55, of Erma, May 14. He was a retired supervisor with the Philadelphia Blueprint Co. He formerly lived in Wildwood. Ruth Walters Miller. 91, of Cape May, May 17. A local iffesident for 70 years, she was a past matron of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter 156. Her late husband Lemuel E. Miller Jr., was a former Cape May postmaster. Augusta H. Schneider, 87, of Ocean View, May 16. Bom in Germany, she lived in Westville for 49 years until moving here nine years ago. -- Carolyn S. Shelly. 43, of Erma, May 16. An area resident for 17 years, she was a past first district Republican commitfeewoman in Lower Township. Anna E. Tebbs, 75, of West Cape May, May 13. A local resident for 42 years, she was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Cape May. Wesley W. Thorn, 80, of Wildwood Crest, May 13. He was custodian of the Wildwood Crest Library for the past 12 years. Rosalie .D. Titley, 94, of Avalon, May 17. She was born in the Caribbean islands and lived in South Orange before moving here 15 years ago. Mary F. Valeri, 91, of Court House, May 18. Bom In Italy, she was a local resident for more than a half century. She was a Gold Star Mother. George W. Waxier, 78, of Villas, May 17. A retired supervisor for the Woodbine State School, he was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was an area resident for 25 years. John F. Wookey Sr.. 69, of North Cape May, May 18. A retired machinist for the Wheaton Glass Co. and also the Baldwin Locomotive Co., he served as treasurer of the Lower Township Republican Club. He was a Republican township committeeman and a volunteer for Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital.
Emmel Given Commendation AVALON - Marine Sgt. John F. Emmel, son of John J. and Catherine B. Emmel of 123 Old Avalon Blvd. here, was recently awarded a Certificate of Commendation. He was commend^! for his meritorious achievement while serving as the assistant supply chief of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 261, during combat operations on the island of Grenada, from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2, 1983. •
