Twilight Tours of Cottages CAPE MAY - A Cottages at Twilight Tour will open five of the most charming Victorian homes in the city to the public Saturday evening. Sponsored by the MidAtlantic Center for the Arts (MAC), this tour visits the interiors of vintage homes, each representing a different form of architecture and planning. The houses on the Cottages at Twilight Tour will be open 8 to 10 p.m. Tickets for this tour may be purchased all day Saturday at the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St., and that evening at the Dr. Henry L. Hunt House, 209 Congress PI. HOUSES ON the Cottages at Twilight Tour include: The Dr. Henry L. Hunt House (209 Congress PI.), was built in 1881 . It is one of the more eclectic Victorian creations in town, containing elements from most of the styles popular in the 1870s and '80s. The Joseph Q. Williams House (223 Perry St.), a charming Gothic Revival cottage, has a front section dated 1856 and a much older rear wing. It is furnished in antiques that span the range of Victorian styles. The Franklir. Hughes House (665 Hughes St.) Built c. 1840-as a summer cottage, /this carefullyrestored house graces the entranced to the oldest residential street in Cape May. > GOTHIC GARLES (664 Hughes St.) c. 1883. Features walnut and cherry woodwork, marble mantels, Victorian sunporch, family and Euro- . pean antiques. Decorated with sculpture and paintings done by the owners and an outstanding antique doll collection. Windward House (24 Jackson St.) Built in the Edwardian period, this shingle style house features oak paneling, massive doors, and some of Cape May's finest stained and beveled leaded glass. Victorian clothing and accessories are a special attraction. NORTH CAPE MAY - The Kiwanis Club of Lower* Township has changed the location of its weekly meeting to Ben's Restaurant. Bayshore Road here. George B Fin^ eke announced the change. In the past year, the Lower Township club has delivered food to needy families, helped in Special Olympics, aided a drug
education program sponsored a Little League team and Boy Scout troop, and purchased Bible cassettes for each of the township's churches to aid the hard of hearing. Lee Rumsey, club president. expressed hope that the new location will be beneficial to the club. The Kiwanis Club meets 12:15 p.m. every Tuesday.
