ZELNIK Intefest rates keep falling. but First Savings and Loan of Sea Isle City and Crest Savings & Loan of Wildwood Crest are staying with their 8.5 percent rate on the money market deposit account. As they have since last December, those two financial institutions are paying the county's top rates on the accounts, which permit six v transactions a month. P First also is highest in the so-called Super Now account. similar to the money market, but with unlimited checking. First is paying 7.75 percent, compared to Crest's 7.5 percent. Chamber Gives Flag Pole Project $500
\AyMX)N — Chamber of Commence voted last Thursday nigntJo contribute $500 toward a Women's pivic Club project to erect a flagpole at the 30th Street entrance to town. The pole would cost about $3,000 and the club is soliciting funds from other organizations and individuals. The nominating committee nominated Miriam Kauterman for president. George Fiese for first vice president. Carman Scarpa for second vice president, and Irene Matthews for secretary-treasurer. Other nominations can be made between now and the election at the June 20 meeting. Installation will take place in September. The chamber doesn't meet in July and August. But there will be a meeting of sorts on July 21 when the chamber holds its second annual East-West softball game. The chamber also is sponsoring a cruise on the Miss Avalon on June 22 from 6:30 to 8. Tickets are available from Kauterman. The chamber honored outgoing borough council members Jim Bus ha and Stu Gray with its 1985 Golden Achievement awards.

THOMAS A. LONG Long Is 'Advisor Of Year' COURT HOUSE - Thomas A. Long was named "VICA advisor of the year" by the New Jersey Association of Vocational Industrial Clubs of America at the 20th An- •" niversary New Jersey VICA leadership conference qnd Skill Olympics held in Princeton, and hosted by the Mercer County Vocational School. Long resides in Middle Township and is employed by the Cape May County Vocational Schools. Long is club advisor to 110 students who attend the county Vocational Career Center, whence coordinates all of the club activities. Some of these activities are: Vocational Education Week dinner, local Skill Olympics contests. • community service projects and participation in the annual New Jersey VICA Leadership Conference. Long assisted in the organization of the Career Center VICA Club during the 1981/82 school year. Through his leadership and dedication, the club represented Cape May County at the National Leadership Conference and United States Skill Olympics held in Louisville. Ky.. in 1984. In June of this year Long will attend, along with a delegation of one club advisor and seven students, the National Leadership Conference in Phoenix. Ariz.
