Scouts1 Diamond Jubilee

OCEAN CITY — Scouts ages 7-21 will show what they know Saturday as the Atlantic Area Council of Boy Scouts hosts the Diamond Jubilee Scout Show at the Ocean City Sports and Civic Center, 6th and The Boardwalk. This year's annual event will be part of a national tribute to 75 years of Scouting in America. The event will feature over 50 display booths, constructed, designed and "manned by members of the Cub and Boy Scouts and Explorers. Exhibits will » cover aviation, survival, kite-flying, glider and model plane building, electrical work, using rope and woodworking — just a few of more than 60 topics to be addressed as part of the • show. MOST OF the exhibits are designed for public participation. "We want to show the general public that Scouting is alive, thriving and healthy in South Jersey as well as across America. Scouts develop skills that most kids never have the opportunity to learn in school or at summer camp. We want to show parents and other youths the incredible things our kids can do," says Bill Ridge, scout executive for the Atlantic Area Council.
