Congratulations: It's a boy! Proud parents are Gary and Robin Gilbert of Westside Market ( formerly Douglass) of West Cape ay. He's being called Gary Gregory and wouldn't you know, very, very proud grandparents are Cape May Councilman Harry Gilbert and his wife, Sandy. Tell you how clever these young folks are today. I was in the Westside Market, saw the new mom. Robin, and never even dreamed she was expectin'. That's how well she took care of it all. You might have though it was his grandson. That's r» how proud Tony Rainone, butcher at the Westside Market was. Tony was formerly with the Texas Market until the fire destroyed the place, but now. he's slicing up steaks the likes of which you've never tasted. Good luck to you, Tony. Betty MacMilian of Victorian Towers gave everyone a scare when she was taken by the Rescue Squad from church with severe chest pains, but if you know Betty. she bounces right back. One of the most beautiful weddings ever was that of Leigh and Gail Cassidy (she's the daughter of owner of Ugly Mug Cafe). Nine bridesmaids including maid of honor and two little flower girls were all in yellow, flowers were white and yellow; all the men were in white suits including the two ring bearers. They made a most impressive picture with the entire altar filled with beautiful ladies and handBlood Visit ^ AVALON - A bloodmobile visit will be held at 'v the Avalon Community Center. 30th and Ocean Avenues, 1-6 p.m. Tuesday, . some men. Congratulations. Leigh and Gail. JAMIE FIOCCA just has to be young man of the year! He's the 13-year-old altar boy and student at Star of the 8#a in Cape May who is suffering from acute leukemia and underwent a bone-marrow transplant from his 11-year-old brother. Andrew. Right now Jamie's had a little setback as there are so many changes taking place within his body. He's terribly uncomfortable right now and being heavily sedated to minimize the pains. He's back to the intravenous feeding again because he's covered with sores and blisters not only all over the out side of his body, but inside too, and that causes bleeding and nausea. He's being heart-
monitored. too. But Jamies fighting back. ALL STUDENTS at Star of the Sea School joined in a "Live Rosary" at the Bandstand here in Cape May — that's reciting the rosary all together — all for Jamie. Sister June Weldon. principal, and all other sisters participated along with bystanders, too. Here are some more who've sent donations : Marie MomaL Marilouise Masterson. John and Nancy Miller of the Victorian Pink House, the American Legion Auxiliary of Cape May and Mrs. Mary Crilly. Housing Authority Board commissioners attended an interesting meeting at the Lafayette Street office meeting room. Jim Cavanaugh, HUD representative, discussed
the many improvements which are going to take place shortly for the comfort and benefit of the tenants. Benches are being strategically placed here and there on the lawns so that seniors may sit and enjoy the weather. New signs are now in the parking lots stating that parking is for the tenants only. Others will be towed away at the car owners' expense; lots are being striped to indicate spaces. New lights have also been installed outside in all areas where heretofore it was too dark. So many other improvements are in the making and I'll have it all here for you as soon as processed. I. too, am a commissioner and look forward to the upgrading of conditions as planned
