Bill Aimed To Deepen Waterway

Sturdy Chalks Up Mortgage Record

AVALON — Sturdy Savings and Loan Association approved mortgage loans amounting to $4 million during April, the largest single month figure in its history. According to John Armour, president. Sturdy Savings and Loan Association is having an outstanding year thus far, surpassing the record set in 1984, when the association deposits topped the $100 million figure for the first time in its 63-year history.
