Nursing Seminar June 3

RIO GRANDE — The annual state-wide continuing education seminar for nurses conducted by the Cape May County Unit of the American Cancer Society will be held Monday, June 3, at the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City. "Hyperalimentation: State of the Art Nursing Skills" is this year's topic. The course has been accredited by the New Jersey State Nurses' Association and Licensed Practical Nurse Association for. 6.5 contact credit hours. COURSE DIRECTOR. Dr. Robert Beitman explains: "Utilization of hyperalimentation, which

means intraveous nutrition, is steadily increasing. That patients can now use it at home means, in certain cases, a far greater quality of life for individuals suffering from chronic, or lengthy illnesses. Up to date nursing skills are critical to the effective delivery of this important medical advance." THE COURSE, which annually attracts 200 participants, is designed by a steering committee of local health professionals. Small Inns Focus for Gathering CAPE MAY - Proprietors of small country inns and bed-and-breakfast establishments throughout the Mid-Atlantic region are gathered here today for a colloquium at the Washington Inn. Mary Davies, editor and publisher of INNKEEPING, a newsletter for innkeepers, will be keynote speaker for the colloquium. Ms. Davies is herself an innkeeper in California and an authority on the requirements and peculiarities of small inns and bed-and-breakfasts. The colloquium includes a presentation by (?arl Glassman, innkeeper of The Wedgewood Inn of New Hope, Pa., who has had experience in special events and promotions at the bed-and-breakfast inn he runs with his wife, Nadine Silnutzer. An informal tour of some of the inns of Cape May is also included in the afternoon session.
