Tomato Plants Offered Cape May County Social Services Resource Unit will distribute tomato plants 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. tomorrow at the three Cape Human Resources, Inc. Centers, located in Wildwood at 115 W. Davis Ave., in Whitesboro on Main Street and in Woodbine at Longfellow and Monroe Aves. Persons who are eligible to receive surplus food will qualify for 3-6 plants. Supplies are limited, so eligibles are urged to come early. | The project is in its third year and is made possible by volunteer educational groups who agree to raise the plants from seed until they are ready to be planted. PARTICIPANTS include area elementary school classes, the vocational school and the career center, the Woodbine j Developmental Center, and the Wildwood 4-H Gubs. Vegetable seeds are ' donated to the resource unit by the America the Beautiful Fund in Washington, D.C., because the project incorporates education, career orientation, self reliance and is a benefit to income eligibles in the community. Information on planting and care of plants is available through the ; County Extension Service j at 465-5115. Resurfacing Off to Fall MIDDLE TOWNSHIP - | The New Jersey Depart- ' ment of Transportation has agreed to postpone the resurfacing of Route 9 in Court House and Mayville until after Labor Day. In a letter from John F. Dunn Jr., chief of the Bureau of Maintenance, NJDOT, to Committeeman Charles Leusner, Dunn states, "We will honor this request and postpone the resurfacing of Route 9 in Middle Township until (after Labor Day." Leusner said he was pleased with the decision in that any construction during the summer months would create a hardship to both residents and businesses in that area. Leusner said he made the request to the DOT last month in a request from the business community. The project is part of the New Jersey Transportation Trust Fund Project. AARP to Install COURT HOUSE - A covered dish luncheon at noon will precede the meeting of the Township of Middle Chapter 1182 of the American Association of Retired Persons Tuesday, June 11, in Fellowship Hall of the First Methodist Church, Main Street.
