By Libby Demp Forrest JUNE IS BUSTIN' OUT aU over the ■ place. This is a great month to celebrate H anything ... marriage, summertime, I graduations. With summer unfolding at every turn, I there are plenty of good reasons to stay I outdoors until the last moments of I daylight. These long, long days nourish I our souls; beach lovers enjoy working on I their tans during the lazy, hazy days of I summer. Caution advised tho for beach I lovers; too much sun is no fun * * * We've sat through our share of graduaI tions ... and along with them, graduation I speeches. What is it about a platform and I an audience that inspires a propensity to I go on and on with reading from an I uninspired text? * a • WE ARE quickly moving toward the I longest day of the year. The Summer !■ solstice will occur at 5:44 a.m. on Friday, June 21st, so for the next several weeks H we will be enjoying the longest hours of daylight of the year. Babies who normalI ly put their little heads down when I darkness falls just won't do it this time of I year. Who wants to sleep when the birds I are still chirping? * * * Up, up in the skies look for Vega, an anI nouncer of summer. Its light has been on I its way to us for only 26 years, so as star I distances go, Vega is fairly close to us. ■ Summer wouldn't be summer without H all the fun of this time of year. Eating out M seems to put even more oomph into the I m

good time of summer. Here are some recommendations of places where we've been lately: DONNA'S PLACE. Search no more for a casual, fun spot to enjoy a world of good eating. Donna's Place, a mini-mall of food at 107th and 3rd Avenue, Stone Harbor offers a world of surprises — including take-out seafood, bakery, fish and produce, all sold inside a happy-go-lucky mini-mall. We also found custard, baked goods, fresh produce, pizza — and bicycle rentals. Take out platters include steak hoagies, fries and onion rings, shrimp in a basket and pizza to go. The bakery offers freshly made pies, birthday cakes to order, donuts, bread and Danish. Is everybody hungry? * ♦ • MARABELLA'S. Marabella's puts the spotlight on great Italian food, all cooked to your order. Located at 3rd Avenue at 95th Street, Stone Harbor, it also operates a Philadelphia location (at 1420 Locust Street). We go to Marabella's for Italian excellence. Our favorite specialties? We love the tender milk fed veal dishes, such as the Veal Milanese. The Marabella family offers homemade soups, children's platters, and wonderful seafood platters, all prepared fresh daily. Food lovers are going to love Marabella's. * • • BAYBERRY INN. If you have a taste for international cuisine, we recommend The Bayberry Inn, at Congress Place and Perry Street, Cape May where appetizing dishes from around the world are served in a relaxed, historic atmosphere. We enjoyed an excellent Shrimp, Artichoke, and Mushroom Salad there the

other day, served with an herbed H mustard vigaigrette. Our entree was Lamb Brochette, marinated in raspberry vinegar with a mustard peppercorn H crust. Brunch and dinner are served every day. Enjoy the summer porch or fireside dining. • • * PEACHES. Peaches, a Cape May cafe located at 322 Carpenter's Lane at Washington St. Mall and Sawyer Walk, serves an international cuisine on its' sidewalk cafe. The specialties include Thai dishes, unusual seafood, vegetarian . H dishes and delightful sweets and fine coffees. We enjoyed the Thai Chicken Stir fry with cashews last weekend. The tender chicken and fresh vegetables were sauteed in a Thai sauce, served on a bed of rice. We carried along our own spirits and enjoyed sitting at a sidewalk table watching the hustle-bustle of the street scene. • * • VEGAS DINER. The Vegas Diner and I Restaurant, at 14th and New Jersey H Avenue, North Wildwood is one of our favorite places for enjoying fresh broiled seafood, a Vegas specialty. Open seven days a week, from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. the long hours make it easy to stop by for either a quick snack or a leisurely meal. Early Bird specials are H served weekdays from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Everything is home cooked and delicious. The Early Bird Specials include salad bar, beverage and soup for $6.50. I
