? Ocean City to Hold Annual Flower Show

OCEAN CITY - A threeday flower show featuring orchids, roses, African Violets and special displays from area flower clubs will be held at the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, Friday through Sunday. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday. Admission is free but visitors may leave a donation to help support the event. A trade fair featuring flower products for sale will be held in the Pavilion of the Pier Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-lO p.m. SPECIAL EXHIBITS will be presented by Leamings Run Botanical Gardens, The Avian Rehabilitation Center, £ Stockton State College, The k. Wetlands Institute, the

Sierra Club, 4-H Clubs and The Herb Garden. Participating clubs include the Ocean City Garden Club, Acorn Garden Club, Victorian Society, African Violet Society, New Jersey Or- . chid Society and Shore Orchid Society. The Rose Show will be held Sunday only, in the Solarium of the Pier 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. PROGRAMS FOR the show will be distributed through city information centers and flower shops. The Ocean City Flower Show has been held continuously for 13 years and normally attracts thousands to the city's Music Pier, an enclosed auditorium over the beach and Ocean. Walter Off, a professional orchid grower, is chairman of the event. Committee members include Andrew Strang, Vera Miller, Norma Shapiro, Gloria Parker, George Wuest, Frank Wuest, Mimi Lyness and Mark Soifer. By Starn's Employees Employees of two Starn's ShopRite Markets in Cape May County are planning events to benefit the March of Dimes. Workers at the Rio Grande market will sponsor a "Starn's Day on the Boardwalk" at Mariner's Pier and Morey's Pier in Wildwood noon-6 p.m Sunday, June 16. "All you can ride" tickets for a $10 donation are available at all Starn's stores. Employees of Starn's in Somers Point will sponsor a flea market 8 a.m -4 p.m . also June 16. on the parking lot of the ShopRite at Bethel and New Road. Dealers' spaces will be available the day of the flea market, and set-up starts at 7 a.m. No reservations are necessary. Reading, Anyone? SEA ISLE CITY - With summer leisure time approaching, Commissioner William VanArtsdalen has issued a reminder of the facilities offered by the city library, in the Raffa Community Center. "Summer is a great time to catch up on reading, and the city library stands ready, as always, to serve our residents," said VanArtsdalen. The library is open daily 9 a.m.-l p.m. and 2-4:15 It is open 7-9 p.m. Mondays, and 9 a.m -noon Saturdays.
