Hospital Auxiliary Holds Installation
COURT HOUSE - The 650-member auxiliary of Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital recently installed new officers. Peggy Boricland of Avalon was named president, taking over the position from Mary Greiner, of Wildwood Crest, who has held the office for the past two years. As she turned over the gavel, Mrs. Greiner was lauded for her leadership accomplishments. During her tenure, the auxiliary raised over $120,000 to • benefit the hospital's building fund. MRS. BORKLAND is pledged to continuing the progress. She brings a rich background of experience to the presidency. Mrs. Borkland has been a volunteer and auxiliary member at Burdette Tomlin ever since she and her husband, Leonard, moved to Avalon nine years ago. She was co-chairperson and co-author of the I hospital's popular Seashore I Seasonings Cookbook. She is also a past president of the Stone Harbor/Avalon Branch of the auxiliary. Before coming to this area, Mrs. Borkland served as a volunteer for eight years at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pa., where she also contributed her time to the Devon Horse Show Mrs. Borkland attended St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. AN ACTIVE retiree whose interests include grandchildren and golf, she also serves as president of the Avalon Garden Club. I Others elected to auxiliary offices include: vice president, Dorothy Lovell, Rio Grande; recording secretary, Suzanne Walters, Stone Harbor; corresponding secretary, Ruth Wehe, Court House; financial secretary, J. Harry Beckmann, Stone Harbor; and treasurer Pat Nagel, Wildwood. Trustees: one year, Ruth Wehe; two years, Ruth Toft, Court House, and three years. Mary Greiner. Nominating committee chairperson is Gloria Conroy, Villas. THE BURDETTE aux iliary is composed of six branches located in different geographical areas. Activities undertaken by individual branches enrich Cape May County life as they benefit the hospital.
Antique shows, house tours, casino trips, bazaars, art auctions, theater parties, and special luncheons are among the fund-raising activities. Annual dues are just $3 and new members are always welcome. Newly elected presidents of the individual branches can provide more information about the group activities. GOP Honor For Senlick VILLAS — Local resident Mrs. Nina Senlick, president of the Cape May County Women's Republican Club, has been awarded a certificate by the New Jersey Federation of Republican Women in recognition of her service. Mrs. Senlick is treasurer of the Villas Women's Regular Republican Club. She is active with the Wildwood Chapter of Deborah Hospital and the Cancer Crusade. Also, she is an active member of several organizations at St. Raymond's Church here.
