Varied June Tours Set in Cape May
CAPE MAY - Trolley, walking, and house museum tours will be featured here daily through June in Cape May. New Jersey The Mid- I Atlantic Center lor the Arts / . (MAC) will sponsor: Trolley tours of the National Landmark District on Saturdays and Sundays begin at the Trolley Station, Beach Drive at Gurney Street On weekdays, they begin at Ocean Street, opposite the Washington Street Mail. MAC will offer two distinct tours: THE HISTORIC East End tour includes the historic Physick Estate, two Victorian hotels, picturesque Columbia Avenue, busy Ocean Street, and tree-lined Hughes Street, the oldest residential street in the city. The East End Tour will depart on the following schedule: Saturdays — 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:45 p.m.; Sundays — 10:30a.m.. noon and 1:45 p.m.; Mondays — 10:30a.m. and noon; Wednesdays — 10:30 a.m., noon and 1 :45 p.m. ; Fridays — 10:30 a.m. and noon. The Historic West End tour includes stately Congress Hall, the Huntington House, the Pink House. Congress Place. Perry Street and the aligned porches of Decatur Street. The West End Tour will depart on the following schedule: Saturdays — 11:15am., 1 and 2:30 p.m.. Sundays — 11: 15 a m and l p.m.: Mondays — 11:15a.m. and 12:45 p.m.; Wednesdays — 11:15 a.m.. 1 and 2:30 p.m.; Fridays — 11:15a.m. and 12:45 p.m. WALKING TOl'RS of the National fcandmark District are designed for those who | like history close-up and in | detail. Knowledgeable guides lead visitors on a comfortable stroll down many of the historic streets. Tours are 1-1/2 hours long and begin at the Information Booth at the head of the Washington Street Mall tat j Ocean Street ) on the following schedule: Saturdays — 10a.m. : Sun- ' days — 10 a m : Tuesdays — 11 a.m. . TOURS OF the Emlen Physick Estate include the Stick Style mansion, at 1048 Washington St.. designed by Frank Furness. and built in 1881 It contains a restored I Victorian house museum. These tours run on the I following schedule: Satur- I days — every 45 minutes I 10:30a.m. • 2:15 p.m ; Sun- I days — every 45 minutes I 10:30 a m - 12:45 pnv; Tuesdays — every 45 minutes 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.: Thursdays — every 45 minutes 10:30 a.m. • 1.30 p.m. As a service for senior citizens and others needing transportation, a trolley shuttle on Tuesdays and Thursdays runs round trips between Ocean Street (opposite the Washington Street Mall) and the Physick Estate. This shuttle service is free of charge to persons purchasing Physick Estate Tour tickets, and runs on the following schedule: Tuesdays — 10:15a.m., 11 a.m.. 11:45a.m.. 12:30 p.m. and 1:15p.m.; Thursdays: 10:15 a.m.. 11 a.m.. 11:45 a.m.. 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. 1 Barbeque Set BELLEPLA1N - A chicken barbeque will be held by Belleplain Post 6257.
