Here's Dolly By Dolly STanpm WW
You've heard of the "surrey with the fringe on top" — now we have a senior's tricycle with the fringe on top. surely only one-of-a-kind, going along the promenade in the early morning with Rose Orio proudly doing her daily exercise with hubby. Caesare, pedalling along on his two-wheeler - they make a delightful scene, especially with the new tricycle top invention! One of the best Italian cooks in this area has to be Betty Buck. Her meatballs and sauce keep you coming back for more. I should say at this point that Betty is of Italian descent and hubby, Kugene, now likes his meals just that way FACILITIES promised to be available at the City Library are not yet available just now. They are in the throes of being built, but it will take more time to finish them I'll have the information here for you as soon as available This past week brought two very large birthday celebrations about: one for Ceorge Yeager's birthday (?) daren't tell the exact figure, but it was one to be remembered. George is owner of the Dragon Lady Restaurant and he had not only one birthday cake but two. Wife, Terry, and a bevy of children and their children surrounded while gifts galore were opened. George read every birthday card, line for line before going from one gift to the other, while his face beamed giving thanks THE OTHER birthdaybash was for Jim Leahy, owner of the Klothes Cove in Cape May Jim was a mere 50 and reaching that point called for everyone to get together That included wife. Evelyn, who master minded the surprise party, and children. Eva Marie.
Christy. Mary Beth. Katie. Maureen. Jim. Dolores. Dan and John. No, I'm not making up this list. — there are nine children in all and at that rate, they didn't even have to invite outsiders, but there were over a hundred in all. Needless to say, the party had to be at a place large enough, so, the Wildwood Yacht Club was the setting for an evening Jim Leahy will remember far into his old age. Another birthday person is Dawn Brady of North Cape May She doesn't look a day over 16, but she's 20. BETWEEN answering my telephone and opening my mail, it's almost a full time job. One such note was from Grace Sutcliffe of Victorian Towers reminding me that it's that time again. Brother, John, and his wife. Margaret (also of the Towers) are celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary June 21 (by the way, the same was true for my parents too). All good wishes go to this very fortunate couple to have had one another's company for so many years. They're here in Cape May once again ail the way from Augusta, Ga. — Dr. Charles A. Meyer, wife. Barbara, and their four children, Katherine. Charles. Elizabeth and Jane. Barbara remembers the town well, having been here summers all her childhood. Daughter. Katherine. is a ballerina with the New York Ballet Barbara's mother is Rita Stango Weis. also a Cape May-ite for many, many years and now also residing in Georgia. JAMIE KIOCCA is slowly progressing, but at least, progressing. He is still on intravenous and as soon as all the inside healing ls at a safe point, he will then be put on some light food. Up till now. he had inter nal bleeding which would have been worse if real food was taken He is off the heart monitor now, his hair is starting to surface, and Jamie's sporting a brand new bathrobe with not only his initials, but Villanova's Wildcat insignia, all courtesy of grandma. Mollie Kazlow. called "Mammy" by Jamie Now all Jamie has to do is get up and going; he has all the props he needs Paul Bogle of the Fudge Kitchen. l where Jamie worked before I entering the hospital, is a ' godfather, companion, nurse. — you name it. all rolled into one grand friend. BARNEY. AS HE is known, visits Jamie more than once a week, bringing packages galore. Once it was oodles of canned and frozen foods which Jamie can eat when he'll be allowed to resume meals, games, and just recently, a whole bag of over $100* in change which the other Fudge Kitchen employees have gathered together from their tips. Jamie has so much love going for him. he just has to get hack here to Cape May for all to see him • Visitors this week includI
. ed the Larry Notch family. i A'hose son not only ran in the - foot race recently to benefit
Jamie, but the family is one of the closest and dearest too.
