Old House Tour Slated June 29-30 *

CAPE MAY — A glimpse of the colorful history of Cape May County going back into the 18th Century will be provided by the annual Old House Tour of the Cape May County Art League, to be conducted 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday, .June 29, and Sunday, June f 30. Eighteen homes and buildings can be visited Saturday. There are both self-guided and guided bus tours. Twelve homes in Cape May are open KM Sunday. Among the historic structures included on the tour are:» THE OLD SCHOOL House (1830) in Palermo is a one-room school restored ACS to Hold Casino Trip RIO GRANDE - The American Cancer Society, Cape May County Unit, will sponsor a bus trip to Harrah's Marina Casino Tuesday, July 16. Bus leaves Rio Mall at 5: 15 p.m. and Wildwood City Hall parking lot 5:30 p.m. Return is set for 11:30 p.m. Call 886-1154 for reservations and further information. V Craft Show OCEAN VIEW - The Ladies Auxiliary of the Ocean View Volunteer Fire Co. will have a craft show and flea market 9 a.m. -4 p.m. Saturday, July 13. by the Historic Preservation Society of Upper Township. The Seaville Friends ' ' Meeting (1716-1727) has Old Quaker benches and hand-hewn beams to recall the early days. The James Siles Place ( 1857) in Dennisville has an original one and a half story house and an addition of a large two-story wing. The Nathaniel Holmes House "Holmestead" (1750-1822) in Dennisville was built in two sections, the orginial in 1750 and a larger section in 1822. THE DAVID Johnson House (1770) in Dennisville is a late Georgian style dwelling being restored by the owners. The Dennisville United Methodist Church (1870) has a tall spire remeniscent of the New England churches. The Busnell House ( 1830) in Dennisville has imported oak flooring and cedar siding. The Capt. John Douglas House (1835) has the original weather boards and window glass. The Hanna Williams HOuse (1787) in Dennisville shows how things and life used to be in the 18th Century. The Henry Ludlam House (1804) is a Federal style home with the family cemetery one mile south of the house. THE SOUTH Dennis United Methodist Church (1870) is a typical small country church affixed in the old trees. The William Tomlin House (1797) is a beautifully restored homes in Goshen that perhaps was used as a "carriage stop" for travellers. Today the "Chicken Coop Antique Shop" is on the premises. The homeowners of Court House have opened their doors to tour par-

ticipants. The home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Karaso, circa 1880, is a Victorian style house of Vernacular Gothic Revival. The home Of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony DeVico III, circa 1850, has special features like Gothic windows and multiple gingerbread shingles. The Jonathan Fifield Homesteas. circa 1800, originally stood in the railroad lot and was moved to its present site in 1890. THE HOME of Dr. and Mrs. Edward Tinney, circa 1800, is a pre-Victorian country cottage dating back to the mid 1800 s. The Samuel Buck House, 1780, was one of the original 12 houses in the village of Cape May Court House. The Raymond Burke House, circa 1850, has always been in the same family and much of the
