- Beach Fee Head Named SEA ISLE CITY - Kim Ahrens has been named by City Commissioner William VanArtsdalen as the city's new beach fee director. Aherns will be assisted in the program by the former director. M A Castaldi. who. VanArtsdalen reported. has donated his time to the city to help reorganize the program VanArtsdalen stated that the beach fee program will return to the system he organized in 1982, a system he noted was "most successful" area headed by an area supervisor, responsible for the checkers in their area. " EACH STREET end will be manned by a checker, who will be on duty from 10 to 4 each day". VanArtsdalen continued. "All persons arriving at the beach prior to 10 a.m. will be checked for tags." In addition to their duties as beach tag checkers, the employes will also help prevent litter problems on the beach, by reminding beachgoers to use the recepticles and keep the Sea Isle beaches clean and free of litter and debris. "Beach tags will be strictly enforced." VanArtsdalen stated, "and we ask that tags be worn so that they are visible to the checkers." "WE FEEL certain that we will obtain the cooperation of everyone using Sea Isle City's beautiful beaches." VanArtsdalen said The beach fee program -is expected to raise $300,000 for the resort this season, and VanArtsdalen feels that with proper management an additional $75,000.00 in fees can be collected for the city i 1
