Barbo To Open Concerts SEA ISLE CITY - Sal Barbo. one of the city's favorite entertainers, will open the 19R5 summer concert series 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. July 3. Barbo. a Philadelphia born tenor, began his singing career in 1948, studying with Mme Grace Welch Piper. Giovanni Martinelli, Carl Suppa. and Marco Farnesi. He has appeared with the Suburban Opera Co.. The Kittenhouse Opera Co. and the Philadelphia Opera Co. He is well known for his radio and television appearances. some of which include guest appearances with Sergio Franchi and Mike Douglas on the Mike Douglas Show. Hollywood actor and comedian Mickey Shaugnessy . Hollywood and stage comedians Fisher and Marks. Hollywood actor Dennis Day. and organist I-irry Ferrari.
