Nursing Graduates Honored

MAYS LANDING -Five nursing students from a class of 60 were recently honored at a pinning ceremony of Atlantic Community College. Those honored and the awards they received were: Judith Russell, North Wildwood, Highest In State Post CLERMONT - Local resident Richard E. Mower, a past president of the Upper Township Board of Education, was recently elected vice president for finance of the New Jersey School Boards Association. He has been a member of the local board since 1975.

Scholastic Achievement; Walter Coderre, Hammonton. Outstanding Clinical Achievement; Elin Clements, Court House, the Barbara Rimm Award; Sharon Goldberg, Ocean City, honorary membership in the New Jersey League for Nursing; and Kim Keenan, Pleasantville, a scholarship from the American Association of University Women, Atlantic City Branch. TWO RECENTLY retired faculty members, Madeline Coe and Margaret DeGeorge, who both worked at ACQ for 18 years, were also honored at the ceremony. ^ Among those- recognized at the ceremony, for their

completion of the nursing program, were: Mary Buckwalter, Woodbine; Carolyn Caprioni and Kathryn Carvale, Ocean City; Teresa Davolos, Wildwood Crest; and Lisa Garofalo, Avalon. Also: Rosemary Hilvert, North Cape May , Kathleen Keele and Theresa Kemenosh, Ocean City; Vivian McLaughlin, North Wildwood; and Christine Piernikowski, Ocean City. AND: Irene Rice, Ocean City; Carol Rippel, Woodbine; Patricia Stafford, Sea Isle City; Ursila Stevenson, North Cape May , Geraldine Stile, Rio Grande; Nancy Sykes, North Wildwood; and Carol Troiano, Rio Grande. In an attempt to unite all of ACC's nursing graduates, several members of the 1985 class have formed the Nursing Alumni Committee. Alumni interested in becoming members can contact any one of these nursing graduates: Cecilia Boyd (228-2728), Clara Petway (645-2882), Margaret Fleishman (822-7653). Lydia Troast (641-8728), Phyllis Doyle (665-6945) and Elin Clements (861-2171).

Taxpayers' Annual Meet CAPE MAY - The Taxpayers Association of Cape May. Inc. witt hold an annual general membership meeting 7:30 p.m. tomorrow, in the gymnasium of the Cape May Elementary School on Lafayette Street. Principal speaker will be Fred Coldren, city manager, who will speak on trash collection and beach negotiations. An election will be held to fill the postions on a 12-member board of directors.
