The circus is coming to town Tuesday, July 9, at Beach and Trenton Avenues in Cape May! And guess what? This year the circus features Tiny Tim — yes, the very person who made famous his rendition of "Tiptoe Through the Tulips". In addition, there'll be trained domestic and wild animals, including performing elephants. Advance ticket sales are being offered to the public at reduced prices and here's where you can get them: At the Fire Department, Washington and Franklin Streets, 884-7547; Tolz Realtors, Acme Shopping Plaza, 884-7001; Needles Agency on the Washington Mall, 884-8428; Hunt's Beach Theatre, Beach Avenue (across from Convention Hall); and Montreal Liquor Store, Beach and Madison Avenues, 884-1186. Proceeds will benefit the Cape May Volunteer Fire Department to be used to update firefighting apparatus. "THIS IS Your Life" was the name of the celebration given for Hazel Crowell. 93 years young and still an active choir member at the Methodist Church (next to City Hall). It all started out with a roast beef dinner given by the choir members, the proceeds of which went toward new choir robes. Then everyone was asked to step into church. There, Bud Cohen, emcee, started the very beautiful program for Hazel, saying "This is your life. Hazel Crowell". Present were Hazel's family of children and grandchildren, relatives and many friends. Highlight of the evening was a Money Tree given to Hazel, who has been a choir member there for 60 years ! As she sat in a beautifully decorated chair trimmed in blue and white satin, no one would ever know Hazel goes way back to 1893. Reverend Donald Tabler. pastor of the Methodist Church, beamed proudly at his very dedicated choir member. Everyone wishes Hazel continued good health and many more years of singing.
