Lecture Topic Is Beach, Bay Birds

STONE HARBOR - The beaches and wetlands of Cape May County are the nesting sites and homes of many species of birds and waterfowl. Anne Galli, in her illustrated lecture "Birds of the Beach and Bay" 8:15 p.m. Saturday, at the Wetlands Institute, will look at the wide variety of birds that frequent nearby coastal areas. Ms Galli, former assistant director and continued friend of the Wetlands Institute, is currently director of the Hackensack Meadowlands Environmental Center in Lyndhurst. SHE IS ACTIVELY involved in studies and conservation of endangered species of beach nesting birds such as the piping plover, least terns, and black skimmers. These birds will be among those

discussed in Ms. Galli's program. Ms. Galli has been active in the field of environmental education for many years, and has co-authored several publications about the environment. Galli's lecture is another in the series of environmental lecturers presented each Saturday evening throughout the summer months.
