Council to Hold Special Meeting AVALON — Borough Council will hold a special meeting 9:45 a.m. tomorrow in Borough Hall's Council Meeting Room. In the special session, council is expected to award contracts for: Timber Bulkhead and Stone Revetment, and Professional Services for architect to prepare plans for the public safety building and fire house. Also, according to the t agenda, council will authorize Alvin C. Herman, borough engineer, to prepare plans for relocation of ground utilities in connection with the public safety building and firehouse, and to prepare a construction plan for beachfront between 8th and 80th streets. ouin sireeis.

Art Sale Benefits Hospital AVALON - An art auction for the benefit of Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital will be held Saturday, July 20, at the Avalon Community Hall beginning at 7 p.m. The Bayberry Twig Auxiliary and the Stone Harbor-Avalon Auxiliary of the hospital and the Borough of Avalon in conjunction with the Fine Arts Gallery of Ardmore, Pa., are sponsoring the art auction, which will feature original oils, watercolors, sculptures, enamels, etchings, lithographs and other graphics. THERE WILL be something for everyone from the novice to the experienced art collector, with opening bids ranging from $35 to $75. A Collectors' Corner will also be featured and will include works by modern masters such as Salvador Dali, Norman Rockwell, Alexander Calder, Michael Delacroix, Joan Miro and many others. Tickets may be purchased at the door. Complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served throughout the auction. All funds raised will benefit Burdette Tomlin Hospital. Advisory Unit for Avalon AVALON — To insure greater public input into the decision-making process, Mayor Rachel Sloan has announced her intention to form a Mayor's Citizen Advisory Council. Sloan said that in the past, dissenting public opi mon has been received after administrative decisions have been made ••IT IS IN the best interest of everyone that both myself and the public have c all the information at the I earliest time in the I decision-making process," ' the mayor declared The advisory council, she I believes, is a major step in " solving the problem of a good exchange of information.
