Commission Awaits Repici Appeal

TRENTON - The New Jersey Real Estate Commission last week postponed until July 30 its disciplinary hearing on Court House Realtor Thomas J. Repici. The commission set that date in the belief that Repici 's motions for a new trial would have been heard by then, but Superior Court Assignment Judge Philip A. Gruccio is on vacation this month and is

not expected to hear the case until Aug. 1. So. another postponement is expected. If the conviction stands. Repici's Realtor license is likely to be revoked, according to Sarah Darrow, the deputy attorney general assigned to the commission. "We are required under statue to revoke a license for certain kinds of criminal conviction." said

Darrow. "Our position is that this is that kind of a criminal conviction. It's essentially mandated." SHOULD REPICI win a new trial and eventual acquittal. the commission still isn't through with him. Darrow said. "If the conviction doesn't stand," she said, "I would expect we would still have a hearing and call witnesses." Although "revocation" sounds final. Darrow said Repici "could come back and make a case after he's been rehabilitated." Repici was convicted May 30 of "theft of services" for connecting his Hy-land Motor Inn to a Middle Township sewage line without permission. HE SEEKS a new trial on grounds Assistant Prosecutor Robert Wells did not use information he had that Repici had permission to connect from former Sewage Commissioner Michael Vistenzo. Repici did not make that defense during his trial, and Vistenzo has declined Avalon Agenda Liquor Licenses AVALON — Borough Council plans a 9:45 a.m. special meeting tomorrow to consider liquor license transfers for the Princeton Grille and Whitebrier Inn. comment. Repici did not return this newspaper's phone calls. Repici was sentenced May 30 to a $1 .000 fine, oneyear's probation, and at least 180 hours of community service. His appeal postponed the sentence. The "services" Repici stole were valued at $179: the $100 application fee and the annual $79 sewer fee for a home. Repici's home is in the motel. The prosecution had argued the theft had a value in excess of $200. That would have been a more serious conviction with a stiffer penalty Blood Visit In Marmora MARMORA - Each summer, blood donations in the Penn-Jersey Region of the Red Cross reach critically low levels, because of vacations, warm weather, and other activities which make it less convenient to donate Donors are needed if bloodmobiles are to reach their goals and meet patient needs. Ocean Waters Test OK; Backbays Flunk

CREST HAVEN - The pattern of mostly good ocean water and plenty of bad backbays was repeated in last week's county Health Department recreational waters monitoring program. Ocean City. Strathmere Stone Harbor, Wildwood Crest, Cape May and Cape May Point had excellent ocean water readings. With a state water standard of 50 MPN ( most probable number) in measuring fecal coliform bacteria. Avalon had one 79 reading (at 21st Street). North Wildwood had a 70 and a 110 and Lower Township, where the ocean meets the Delaware Bay. had its usual high numbers, which are the object of a special survey.

; Complete countywide I results appear in a chart on f page 67. 5 In the backbays, where » the state standard is 200 t MPN. high numbers ; abound and appear in almost every community. I County Health Officer ; Louis J. Lamanna said he t saw no need for concern. Two explanations are usually given for the polluted water: runoff following a rainstorm, or overworked sewage treat- » ment plants discharging ini adequately treated effluent j into the bays because of the weekend tourist boom. ? The backbays within a i quarter-mile of either side i of the plants are .posted 1 against recreational use. Lamanna pointed out.
