Auction To Honor Artists

AVALON - James Llewelyn, "one of the country's most versatile, contemporary artists", and Gloria Janssen, an acclaimed artist in her own right, will be guests of honor at the Art Show and Auction for the benefit of

Burdette-Tomlin Memorial Hospital Saturday at Avalon Community Hall. 30th and the beach. The preview for the auction will begin at 7 p.m. The auction itself will begirt at 8 p.m. The Bayberry Twig Auxiliary and the Stone Harbor-Avalon Auxiliary of Burdette-Tomlin Memorial and the Borough of Avalon, along with the Fine Arts Gallery of Ardmore. Pa. are sponsoring the auction. TICKETS MAY be pur chased at the door. Complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served throughout the evening. Llewelyn, a master of all fine arts media, has been a professional illustrator and painter for 20 years. Llewelyn has been awarded numerous one-man shows, and his art hangs in many private collections across the country. Gloria Jannsen, his wife, is an equally well-known artist. She has matured as an individual in painting watercolors. oils and pastels. She is admired for her delicate studies of women and children. Her art has been compared to Renoir. Degas, and Monet. Both artigts will be available for questioning during the preview of the auction and several examples of their work will

be on display. Pieces of their art will be available for purchase during the auction. For tickets or additional information, call 967-4736.

Chalfonte Candlelight Concerts CAPE MAY - The Chalfonte Hotel will offer classical concerts to Southern New Jersey residents and visitors. The concert \series, entitled Concerts by Candlelight, is beginning its third season. The Chalfonte, the oldest hotel in the city, will offer a wide range of concerts this season. Such groups as the Bach Aria Consort of Philadelphia, a trio which features the baroque trumpet, the harpsichord and voice, and Festive Brass, a quintet which performs pieces from the Renaissance, as well as contemporary compositions, will be performing at the Chalfonte. Reservations are required for the dinner/concert package and reservations are requested for the concerts. Concerts begin at 8:30 p.m. For more information, call Cheryl Kaplan. 884-8409. Park Tickets AVALON — The recreation department is involved with the New Jersey Recreation and Parks Association to arovide amusement park tickets at a discount price. Dedication, Bazaar Set DIAS CREEK - The County Animal Welfare Society will hold a Christmas in July Bazaar and dedication of its animal clinic beginning 10 a.m. Saturday at- its shelter. 519 Delsea Drive. The dedication is scheduled for 1 p.m. Penny Party GOSHEN — A penny party will be hosted by the Daughters of America 7 p.m. Monday. July 22, at Cresent Council 61 here.

Entries Due For 'Night In Venice* OCEAN CITY - Entry forms are now available for the Night In Venice boat parade and decorated home competition at the Public Relations Office. City Hall, and various marinas throughout the Ocean City area. Over 100,000 spectators normally watch this event, set for 6 p.m. Saturday. July 27. 6 p.m. Peter Liacouras. Temple University president, will be grand marshal of the 100- boat contingent. Boats start at the Longport Bridge and the regatta ends at South Harbor near r-i?
