Sand Sculpture Winners Unveiled

AVALON — Despite a < thunderstorm which forced postponement of the event i from Friday, July 5, to Saturday, the sand < sculpture contest at the 44th Street beach went off without a hitch. The contest was part of the borough's celebration of Independence Day. Winners in the various categories were: Six and under singles: Most Original. Matt Mitch - self portrait. 1st. Matt Sheronas • Castle; 2nd. Wildwood Dancers To Perform WILDWOOD - The city and the Pacific Avenue Merchants Association are working together to bring entertainment to Pacific Avenue this summer. Each Thursday through Aug. 16. dance groups will provide an evening dance performance at the corner of Wildwood and Pacific Avenues. The dancers, ranging in age from 14 to 20 years old, are members of the Wildwood Talent Showcase, which is composed of dance companies from Pennsylvania. Massachusetts. Maryland, and Ohio. The events are cosponsored by the Department of Tourism, and the merchants joined to donate $500 to the department's stage rental costs.
