"Waltzing in Old Cape May" is the song written by Bob Stango of Fishing Creek. It's one of Bob's hobbies, writing songs and restoring vintage cars. At the recent vintage 30th Annual Antique Auto Show in Ocean City, over 300 vehicles representing 23 classes of cars assembled, among which was Stango's 1931 Model A pickup truck on the side of which is painted the title of his song WHEN DISPLAYING the truck Bob places the sheet music on the windshield with notes depicting the song on the side panel "Waltzing in Old Cape May" was played at the 1982 Tuiip Festival in Cape May. where hundreds of copies of the song were distributed because so many wanted to take it home and learn it. Needless to say. both hobbies keep Bob busy at his home in Fishing Creek. Of course, I'm prejudiced a little — he just happens to be my baby brother! IT WAS A lovely way to spend an otherwise hot afternoon: the Victorian and Edwardian Summer Costume Luncheon Fashion Show at the Washington Inn in Cape May, by Charlotte Todd and Sandra Miller. Very soft lights, delicious food, and to celebrate the 4th. a dessert of red, white and blue, made up of vanilla ice cream, blueberries and fresh raspberries — simply wonderful! Todd was narrator with models, Julie Merson, Lisa Marie Ward. Theresa Ward. Marge Wunder. Jean Simmons. Chrissy McShone. Anne Sawyer. Kathy Martenson, Kim Sullivan. Maureen Ewan. Miller. Last show is Sept. 5. but you have all summer to take advantage of this very unique way to spend an afternoon. Reservations are a must by calling 884-5697. He sees to it that all appliances are in top running condition — it's his hobby but so very helpful to all who come in Friday and Saturday every week to seek their treasures and near-treasures We're glad she's back from the hospital — Dottie Wilson, the gal with the constant smile as she works along the Washington Street Mall picking up trash, etc. Dottie says she nas a severe case of ulcers, but in spite of it all she still manages to smile. The beauty taking reservations at Menz' Restaurant in Rio Grande is daughter. Denise — with red hair and everything to go with it!
