It's now called. "Kim Moon" (formerly the Dragon Lady) Chinese Restaurant, located in Victorian Plaza, next to the Acme Market in Cape May. New owners are Kenny Chiu Pang and his wife. Annie — they have a little daughter named Tin Ming. Incidentally, the word "Kim" means lucky and it is now a lucky moon since they've opened the restaurant. Kenny's Chinese name is Chiu, which means "strong," and daughter Tin Ming means "bright." So you see. I'm learning some Chinese too! Hours are going to be 11:30 a.m. to 11 :30 p.m. weekdays and weekends 11:30 a.m. to midnight — open for lunches every day. All good wishes to this very young and gracious family. New to Cape May are Betty and James DeGiaimo — all the way from Staten Island. N.Y.. who find they love it here very much. Rosemary and Charles Jones of Victorian Towers were pleasantly surprised with the visit of their daughter and son-in-law. Drs. Richard and Rosemary Fish all the way from New Orleans, La. Dr. Richard Fish teaches veterinary medicine at Tulane University, while Dr. Rosemary Fish, his wife, operates the Rosetree Horse Farm in Bush, La., training horses and teaching dressage. HERE'S A BIT of news brought to me by Sally McAneny of Cape May: pretty soon Sheriff Jim Plousis of Cape May County, plans to distribute, free to senior citizens, prickly plants to plant near windows of their homes. "It's a way to protect yourself and beautify your home" says Plousis. who spent hours with horticultural experts before choosing rotunda holly as the ideal plant to ward off criminals. Residents of the county jail — 20 percent of whom are burglars — have been put to work cultivating these prickly shrubs. DON'T FORGET to visit the Washington Street Mall Aug. 10 and 11 where the Cape May County Art League is sponsoring the third Annual Mall Art Show. All media is accepted except crafts and prizes will be awarded in oils, water-colors, graphics, sculpture and photography. Cash awards include Best of Show, Scholarship Award and a Purchase Award from the Cultural and Heritage Commission. A 10-foot space is provided for each participant for a fee. All artists must provide racks and be prepared for rain. If it is raining at the onset, it will move to the school auditorium.
