1 * DARI.EEN GAU Advances In Contest CAPE MAY — Darleen Gau. 8. daughter of Mr. and Mrs Jerry Gau of this city, was selected as a semifinalist recently in a talent competition at Ocean 1 in Atlantic City. Darleen. who performed a tap dance number, will compete again Aug. 29. She has been dancing since she was Vh with the Joanne Reagan Dance Studio and is a member of The Apprentice Dance Troupe. A pupil at Maud Abrams School. Cold Spring, she will be in the third grade this fall Rural Art Exhibit Set OCEAN CITY- Lowell Davis, a pioneer in popularizing rural art. will display his recent paintings. collector plates and figurines during an appearance at Young's Ltd.. at 1010 Boardwalk, from 3-5 p.m.. and 8-10 p.m. Thursday. Aug 8 Davis will also entertain visitors with tales of life on FoxFire Farm, his 1930sera homestead in southwestern Missouri. Unusual antiques and treasures from Davis' eclectic collection of farm memorabilia will also be exhibited, as will new figurines

'Bonanza' Presented CAPE MAY - "Vaudeville Bonanza presented by the MidAtlantic Stage (MAS), opened July 28 with a troupe from Williamsport. Pa. The revue includes a variety of titillating Victorian musical numbers, including the rousing "Ta-Ra-Ra-Boom-De-A" and the romantic "In the Good Old Summertime" The performances are presented on the open-air stage just behind the historic Emlen Physick Cottage at 1048 Washington St. • Hospital Day COURT HOUSE - Hospital Day is a traditional summer event here Saturday. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., members of the Middle Township Unit of the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary will be stationed at Jamesway Plaza and Murphy's Mart.
