Playoff Scramble Heats Up
CAPE MAY - In the city Men's American Softball League, three teams are fighting for the remaining two playoff berths. Cape Player Has Winner OCEAN CITY - Klaudia Gorman, who will be a senior at Ocean City High School in the Fall, participated in the recently held Garden State Games at Montclair State College. Klaudia scored the winning goal during a stroke-off as the Southeast Field Hockey Team nipped the Northwest Team 1-0 to win the Junior Division Bronze Medal. At the same time, the Southwest defeated the Northeast 3-2 to win the Gold Medal. Klaudia. who lives on Central Avenue, is the first i athlete, male or female, from Ocean City High School to be selected to participate in the 3-year-old Garden State Games, a week long Olympic-type competition held for all sports in New Jersey.

Soccer Club In Germany
The Jersey Shore Soccer Club left July 16 for Darmstadt. Germany. This organization was formed by Bob Helverson and Bill Eisele for the exchange program, with players selected from the Cape Express. Cape May Nets and Upper Township Soccer Association. Funds for the trip were derived from various fund raising activities and by team members themselves. During their
two-week stay in Germany they will be involved in the annual athletic festival in Darmstadt, playing in several games; and be taken on several tours of the area.
