Recorder, Flute Next In Concert
CAPE MAY - "Music for Flute and Recorder", featuring Nancy Sharpe Strawbridge, flute, and Dan Strawbridge, recorder, will be presented at the summer MiniConcert Series 4 p.m. Tuesday. Aug. 6. Mr. and Mrs. Strawbridge are freelance performers in the Philadelphia area and have appeared in Cape May on other occasions. 2 Services Sunday a.m. AVALON — Under the summer schedule of the First United Methodist Church, Sunday morning worship is at 8 and 11 o'clock with nursery care available at 11. Children 5 to 12 are encouraged to attend the 11 a.m. service. After the junior sermon they are excused for supervised arts and crafts. Vacation Bible school will be held9:30-ll:30a.m. Monday, Aug. 5. through Aug. 9. Early registration is urged. First UMC Bible School CAPE MAY - The Vacation Bible School of the First United Methodist Church, with the theme "In the Footsteps of Jesus", will be held Aug. 5-16. There will be daily sessions Monday through Friday 9 a.m. -noon. Classes will be offered for children from nursery (age 3 ) through sixth grade. Activities include song time. Chapel Service TOWN BANK - Non-de-nominational services are held 9:30-10:30 a.m. Sun days from Memorial Day to Labor Day at the Cape May Beach Chapel. Club House Drive at Folsom Road here. There are classes for all ages.
The Mini-Concert Series will be held 4 to 4:30 p.m. every Tuesday in August in the First Presbyterian Church of Cape May at Hughes an.d Decatur Streets.
The public is welcome, admission is free, and dress is casual. These concerts are the congregation's gift to visitors and residents of Cape May.
Green Creek Community
GREEN CREEK - Pastor Joseph Muggleworth will preach at the 11 a.m. Sunday worship service of the Green Creek Community Church, Delsea Drive, on the theme "Does God Lead Into Temptation?" This is part of his series entitled "The Believer and Contemporary Issues". Sunday School meets at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages. A nursery is available. Wildwood Methodist NORTH WILDWOOD - Summer Sunday worship hour is 9:30 a.m., preceded by an old fashioned hymn sing at 9:15, at the North Wildwood United Methodist Church. Second and Central Avenue. Ruth Beddow is music director. Pastor is Steve Herman. The men of the church will serve a pancake breakfast 9 a.m. -noon Saturday. Proceeds of the sale will be used for a new heating system being installed in the parsonage.
CAPE MAY - This Sunday, Pentecost X, the congregation of Cape May Lutheran Church will father for the celebration of Word and Holy Communion. Pastor Ron Nelson will preach on the theme "A Boy's Small Gift," based on John 6:1-15. At the 8:30 a.m. service special music will be provided by Irma Black. At the 10:00 a.m. service the music will be presented by the Senior Choir. Serving as organist for the day will be Ethel Greiner. A coffee fellowship is provided before and after the services.
