— Notes from 7^— — Seaside Goat, N. J . - "
(Although the town Oj Seaside Goat cannot b( found on any map. Murphy assures us that it does in (act exist). I I ran into Felicia XenoFobic, corresponding secretary of the Hyphen-Ated , Women's Klub (H-AWK). ; haying lunch in the SugarBooger Ice Cream Parlor last weekend. "Fleeska" , was enjoying a deluxe double banana split with fellow H-AWK members. Clarissa Katzen-Jammer and Sally Sang-Froid. The girls were bubbling with excitement about the Klub's innovative new aerobics exercise program which is scheduled to begin this week Fleeska asked me to join them at her table. "You see," said Fleeska. as she spooned up the last of her chocolate icecream." the members of HAWK have tried all the standard aerobics exercise programs, and. none of them worked." She wiped off her chins: "We even spent a month practicing Bo Derek's Erotic Aerobics but — Zilch! No one lost weight, and none of our husbands paid a bit of attention." She turned to Clarissa: "And then "Rissa" had her great brainstorm!" CLARISSA SMILED modestly as the waitress brought each of the girls a big slab of cheesecake for dessert. "One day." said Rissa. "I noticed that the young men who work on the garbage trucks are lean and fit, without an ounce of fat on their darling hunky bodies RISSA CONTINUED: "I watched them hanging on to that truck, carrying those heavy garbage cans, sweating like stallions in the hot sunshine, and I said to myself. Rissa. there's the perfect aerobics exercise program! Let's buy the garbage truck and become part-time trash persons'' " Sally took up the story as Rissa dug voraciously into her cheesecake: "It was such a marvy idea that IIAWK unanimously voted to buy a brand new garbage truck. It's being delivered tomorrow." Sally added: We've got permission from Mayor Waxford Squerrs and the Council to pick up all the trash on the West Side of town on Tuesdays and Thursdays HAWK members will work two-hour shifts. " Fleeska concluded: "Best of all. the girls who own Cheeptarts Clothing Boutique. Saucy Coxcomb and Fallopia Bothways, have come up with some Designer Trashmen Outfits by Oscar Del.aurenta — stained cutoffs, matching tanktops, and shower clogs — that cost only $175 per set ! We'll be lean and chic at the same time!''' So all of you West Siders your eyes peeled for a day glo yellow garbage truck "manned" by the girls from H-AWK. ROGER DeLODGER of I the Jolly Roger Realty I Company has designed a I for the Seaside Goat I Realtor's Association. The |
flag depicts a human hand, colored red. palm up and fingers cupped. Underneath, in catchy italic script, are the words "Pay Me Now and Pay Me Later!" "The Realtors all love it,"' said Roger as he gave me one. "You'll see them flying everywhere very soon." Roger is also president of the Bulldozer Development Corporation. "I've got six big bulldozers working around the clock." said Roger, "knocking down old seashore houses so we can throw up prefabricated multi-unit dwellings on the same site." "Unfortunately." he sighed, "there aren't many old houses left. The next step is to get the town council to revoke the foolish zoning ordinance that forbids us from erecting a building any taller than three stories." Roger laughed ajid his jowls shook: "After that, the sky's the limit! We'll rezonc the town during the winter when all of the aware summer residents are gone. And by next June. Seaside Goat will be on its way to having a skyline!" EI.SPETH COUSCOUS was the happiest woman in Seaside Goat last Saturday night. For their 50th wedding anniversary. Elspeth's husband, Keinhart Couscous, took her and a group of their friends to dinner at Chastitute's Restaurant. After dinner Reinhart presented Elspeth with a Rotary Nose-Hair Clipper made of gold from Tiffanys. "Reiny's such a joy!" said Eispeth delightedly as she trimmed her nasal hair to the applause of her family and friends. "It's almost a perfect match for the Blackhead Remover made of silver that he bought for me on our 25th anniversary Thank God I married a man with charm and taste!" Next week I'll have a report about my talk with the head of the Down With Mary Poppins - Coalition. Till we meet again here, y'all take care! J |i£_.
