Rasmussen Named Veep for Nursing

COURT HOUSE - B. J Rasmussen. R.N.. B.S.N. . has been named vice president of nursing at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. "Mrs. Rasmussen brings a rich and varied background of nursing and managerial experience to her new position. We welcome her as a valuable addition to our executive team," said William H. Waldron III, hospital president. A graduate of Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. Mrs. Rasmussen received her bachelor of science in nursing from the University of San Francisco. After an 18-month graduate course at San Francisco State College. she was also awarded a master's certification in labor relations. She is a certified instructor for management training programs. RASMUSSEN is continuing her studies at Widener College. Philadelphia, where she is currently enrolled in a program leading to a master's degree in business administration. Mrs. Rasmussen is a United States Army veteran. Rising to the rank

of captain, she served in the military as a burns and trauma nurse for three years. Her experience includes a year in Vietnam and assignments at Fort Sam Houston Bum Unit, Fort Dix, and Baylor University Trauma Unit. At present she is the local and national vice president of Vietnam veterans of America, a resource and support group for Vietnam vets. Her civilian experience includes positions as an operating room nurse, inservice instructor, orthopedic nurse, and as an administrator. Slje has held positions at Medical Center, Columbus. Ga.. and Marshall Hale Hospital. San Francisco. IN THE STATE of Virginia, she was a physcian's assistant working in private practice with a cardiovascular surgeon. Most recently, she has served a year at Burdette as assistant director of nursing. B. J Rasmussen has local roots. She was born and raised in Cape May. where her parents have resided for 45 years. Her father, Robert Greenway. is a retired electronic engineer who worked with the Coast Guard station there. Mrs R.ismiissrn her Rasmussen.
