week of regular season action before starting playoff? Tuesday night's games featured the Blue Hens versus the Golden Eagles, and the Green Waves versus the Maroon Bulldogs. Both matches resulted in convincginw wins as the Golden Eagles defeated the Blue Hens 55-35, and the Maroon Bulldogs took a 48-13 victory over the Green Waves. In the first .match-up, Cheryl Libofsky of the Eagles led all scorers with 14 points, while the second i game showed Barb Yost [ and Marie Wozniak scoring ; 13 and 12 points respectively for the Bulldogs. THE FINAL night of regular league play, the > Green Waves beat the Blue Hens 35-21. Jen Schider assumed control of the game as she scored an impressive 18 points to lead the Waves to victory. Eagles when the rain started. At halftime, with the scoreboard showing that 8-point lead and Stephanie Sposato leading the team with 6 points, officials decided to postpone the second half. THE SENIOR BoysBasketball League com pleted its final week of regular season action before gearing up for playoffs. Monday, the Lakers took on the Nuggets and defeated them 60-50 as Chris Sellers and Tim Helmick scored 18 and 14 points respectively for the Lakers. iOn the losing side. Dan Devris scored an im- ' pressive 26 for the Nuggets. The second game of the ^ evening paired the Celtics and the Sixers. The Sixers controlled the game from the top. and defeated the Celtics 67-30, getting balanced scoring from all of its members as Rich Murphy. Rob Hicks, and Tim Edwards each scored 18, 17. and 16 points. WEDNESDAY night matches featured the Sixers versus the Nuggets, and the Lakers versus the Celtics. In the first game the Sixers took their second victory of the week as they beat the Nuggets 55-50 in a well played match-up Leading scorers for the Sixers were Rob Hicks with 18 points and Tim Edwards with- 14. Pat Bastian had 18 for the losing Nuggets The second game went to the Lakers as they defeated the Celtics 41-35. Tim Helmick had 20 points for the winning Lakers while Chris Arizin and Tim Weir each had 16 and 13 to keep the Celtics close. Mick Boats Sail Sat. AVALON — More than 60 sailboats and 75 sailors in three classes of sunfish races are scheduled to compete in the Michelob Regatta on the Inland Waterway Saturday. Dolphins Nab 2nd In State LINDEN - Seven Wildwood Crest swimmers represented Region IV at the Garden State Games held here July 19-21. Region IV, which consists of the eight South Jersey counties including Cape May and Atlantic, took second place in the swimming portion of the games. According to Dolphin coach Dave Hart the meet is a showcase of the state's best swimmers. Marcea Huemer, 16, became the first Garden State champion in the Dolphins history, with a victory in the 50-meter butterfly (31.9). "Competition was tough." said Huemer, "it was a good opportunity to see where we'll stack up at the end of this season." HUEMER ALSO medaled ( top three ) in the 100-M . freestyle (2nd), 100-M. butterfly ( 2nd) and 200 and 400 free relays (both 3rd). The Dolphins can also boast of 10 medalists in the games. Christine Laskey placed third in the 11-12 50-M. butterfly, and took another bronze medal for her fly leg in the medley relay. Joe Blong anchored Region IV's 11-12 boys medley relay in a dramatic third place finish. Kirstie Nicely took third in the 15-18 50-M. freestyle while Angela Cotellese swam for the bronze in the 400 free relay.
