Dining and Entertainment"
MID-AUGUST. The summer is moving on, moving on. Does that sound like a song? Believe it or not, the southward bird migration begins this week. Already bird lovers are watchful of the species that will be traveling our way. * • • One of these nights, we suggest you sit out on the porch or put a lounge chair in the yard to watch the heavens. There is bright Vega overhead, or A returns in the west, or the Great Square of Pegasus coming up out of the east This week we are likely to see more meteors than usual, because the earth is at that point in its annual path around the sun where it comes nearest to a great flock of little masses of stone or metal I traveling through space. We attract the nearest of these, and they are drawn into our atmosphere on their way to the earth's surface. • • • ' WHILE SUMMER dwindles, back to school time beckons. The annual human migration going back to school means it's time to go shopping for all the necessities and non-necessities required to start school. Necessities are copy books and pencils and loose leaf paper. Nonnecessities are things the kids.think they need for 'effect' when they wander through the doors of learning. Dining Out in the summertime is always a special pleasure. Some pleasurable places were recommend are: KIM MOON. As soon as we heard about
the opening of the Kim Moon, at 7 Victorian Plaza, Cape May (next to the Acme) we rushed right over. Under the new management of Chef Kong and Kennie Pang, it rates in our book as one of the finest Chinese restaurants we've ever experienced. The service is unsurpassed. The waiters are always accomodatingly close by, refilling tea cups and interested in seeing that you enjoy each moment of your meal. Selections include Peking, Szechuan, Mandarin and Cantonese cooking for luncheon, dinner and take-out. We chose an entree of sauteed chicken with baby shrimp ($7.45) and found every morsel perfect. Excellent rating. * * * • LOBSTER LOFT. You'll feel like you're on a luxury liner when you dine at the Lobster Loft, located at 318 42nd Place, Sea Isle City where only the freshest, the very freshest, ingredients are used in the preparation of chowders, lobsters, seafood dishes, pasta, and meal and poultry dishes. The baked oysters, topped with Imperial crabmeat, make for a delicious appetizer choice. The Monday and Tuesday Clam Bake is one of our favorite meals — it includes half lobster, clam chowder, side order linguine, 12 steamed clams, 12 steamed shrimp and 12 mussels. Seafood lovers are going to be amazed. The famous "Loft" salad includes a selection of shrimp, lump crabmeat, king crabmeat, lettuce, tomato, olives, pimentos in a special house dressing. This is a recommended choice for weight watchers. * * *
