Beach Access | Promised WILDWOOD - Business Administrator Marc Pfeiffer said last week the city is one letter away from providing a safe access to the beach at Hildreth Avenue. He said the city was waiting for a letter of permission from the owners of the Ocean Towers condominium, which straddles the right-of-way, before building a set of stairs up to the Boardwalk. The letter was expected by the end of last week, with construction slated for this week. Pheiffer said. Lilly Ripley. 225 E. Hildroth Ave., said the city promised to build # steps there three weeks ago. She and other residents have complained to the city about the current beach entrance, which is a path leading under the Boardwalk, strewn with rocks and broken bottles. Puddles of stagnant water also have collected under the boards, red by a pipe which Pheiffer said "percolates" water into the sand. Excavation work in the spring to clear sand for the path exposed the runoff, he said. Ripley blamed the standing water for an infection her granddaughter developed in a cut on her foot.
