75th Baby-Parade Rolls Tomorrow
WILDWOOD - Plans are being concluded for the 75th Diamond Jubilee Baby Parade on the Wildwoods boardwalk. At 11 a.m. tomorrow the bands will play, queens will ride in splendor and babies from all over will compete in every type of costume imaginable. The parade is sponsored by the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, assisted by the Women's Civic Club and men from the local service clubs. The parade will be led-off by Queen Oceania 75th, Tracy Ann Barth, and her court: Deana Curry, Amy Gallagher, Kimberly Ann ( Glenn, Paula Grassi, Krista McConnell and Kimberly Ann Murray. SHE WILL BE followed by another member of royalty, Mrs. Jeanne Colson, Diamond Jubilee Queen, and her court ; Lisa
DeFazio, Vicki Ann Douglass, Kimberly Anne McCabe, Kimberly Ann Murray and Nina Williams. Numerous floats from nearby communities & civic groups will compete in various divisions while dazzling spectators along the parade route, from Montgomery to Juniper Avenues on the Boardwalk. The Oaklyn Band of Oaklyn, NJ, The Chaplain Dale Fife and Drum Corps of Philadelphia, the Millville Thunderette Twirlers and the Doctors of Rhythm Band will create the beat for the marchers. THERE ARE nine categories of judging for the babies, newborn to 12 years. Trophies will be awarded for first through fourth place winners as well as many special awards in the following categories: Most Attractive Baby up to 1 year of age (no decorations). Most Attractive Baby 13 months to 24 months (no decorations), Children in Fancy Decorated Go-carts, Strollers. Coaches. Kiddie cars, etc. ; Children in Comic Decorated Go-carts etc.. Children Walking in Fancy Dress; Children Walking in Comic Dress, Impersonations. Twins, Triplets arrd Family Groups and Floats. Concert For Africa Aid Slated WILDWOOD - Phoenix Enterprises is producing a benefit concert starring John Sebastian 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29. in I Wildwood Convention Hall. I Portions of the concert's I net proceeds will benefit ™ local Cape May County residents in need and also the Keep Them Alive Fund . for aiding the starving in I Africa through USA for I Africa. Last Concert Stars Barbo SEA ISLE CITY - Popular tenor Sal Barbo will be the featured attraction at the final City Summer Concert for 1985, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 28 Barbo will be accompanied by accordianist Dan Desiderio and percussionist. Doris Heck Barbo has long been a favorite of Sea Isle City audiences with his repertoire of show tunes, popular arias. Italian and Irish favorites.
