Middle Township News Notes

(From Page 24) The Middle Township Football League meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 8 p.m. at the Middle Township Fire House on Boyd Street behind Township Hall in Court House. They are looking for new members and anyone who is interested in youth organizations. Herb Mossbrooks is the league's president; Ramos Phillips, vice president; Keith Maund. treasurer; and Sandy Lochten, secretary. We wish Helen Hall of Garden Lake Park in Burleigh a very "Happy Birthday". Skip Kehr. who is the superintendent of the County's Buildings and Grounds Department, was the guest speaker at the Cape May Court House Kiwanis Club dinner/meeting Aug. 8. Kehr told the group that there are 93 people working in his department, which is in charge of the maintenance and upkeep of the county's 65 buildings exclusive of commissions. Many of these buildings are located in our township. His department is the second largest in the county government. HE SAID that whatever a building initially costs, it will cost 10 times that amount to maintain it before it is retired. Records of all maintenance performed in each department are stored in a computer. The amounts are broken down by cost of materials and labor per building. Only two more evening programs are scheduled for the summer season.
