STONE HARBOR - In the final week of the borough soccer league the championship team played the All Stars. The Green Hornets showed that team work was more important than individualism. The Hornets took a 1-0 lead when Michael James scored the only goal of the first half. In the second

Aces Zip Wildcats To Take LL Crown

STONE HARBOR - The Lions Club Little League Baseball Championship was decided this week when the Aces defeated the Wildcats 4-0 in a closely contested ballgame Monday night. Aces hurler and league's Most Valuable Player Steve Wunder pitched brilliantly, shutting down the potent Wildcat offense. While Wunder was starting out strong on the mound, his supporting cast gave him all the runs he would need in the first inning. AFTER SCOTT Juenger reached base on an error. then broke the game open by crusing a 1-1 pitch over the Wildcats ieftfielder for his fourth home run of the season. Wunder took controll from that point on, shutting down the Wildcats and allowing just one hit, a triple to losing pitcher Joe Henry in the fourth. In the final game of the 1985 regular season, the Panthers defeated the Eagles 4-2. David Reagan increased his record to 5-2 by overpowering the Eagles' hitters. At the beginning of the second half, Greg Miller deflected a pass from Barbara Yost to give the staff a 2-0 lead. Two minutes later Scott Krouse scored on a 20-yard shot to give the staff a 3-0 lead. With 5 minutes left to play Yost scored her first goal of the game. The shutout went to a team of goal tenders, Matthew and Patrick Bastian. Frank Dailey. and Jack Juenger.
