Lowct Township Fall Rec Program •
Registration for Lower Township's Fall and Ongoing Programs continues until Sept. 30. Phone registration will be accepted. Call the Recreation Center 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. or 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 886-7880.
Programs are open to Lower Township < Residents Only. The Recreation Center is located at 2600 Bayshore Rd. behind Township Hall. Hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday and noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. The Center has two meeting rooms and a fullcourt gymnasium. To schedule use of a meeting room, have an idea for recreation, or want more information, call the center at 886-7880. All programs start the Week of Oct. 1. Pre-School Program Pre school Play and Crafts and Mother's exercise, ages 1-5. Shis program provides chudren an opportunity to meet other pre-schoolers while involved with basic games and activities.
Mothers will be provided exercise classes in the gym. Time: Tuesday and Thursday. 1-2:30 p.m. Elementary after School Play Various creative and educational activities for children in kindergarden to sixth grade. Activities depend on registration and the weather. Time: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 3:30-5 p.m. at Rec. Center Arts and Crafts Ages 6 to 13 years. Teaches children basic art techniques and procedures in creating craft projects. Time: Thursday, 6-8 p.m. Teenagers' Volleyball League The league will be formed for both boys and girls 13-18. This is a fun league with the emphasis on participation. Times: Boys, Monday 6-8 p.m.; Girls, Wednesday 6-8 p.m.; Co-Ed, Friday 6-8 p.m. Basketball Co-ed Basketball on Saturday 6-8 p.m. Men's Volleyball League A competitive league for men 18 and older. Teams will be formed and scheduled games will be played. Time: Tuesday 6-8 p.m. Women's Volleyball League A competitive league for women 18 and older. Teams will be formed and games scheduled. Time: Thursday. 8-10 p.m. Open Adult Recreation. Time: 8-10 p.m.. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Women's Exercise -18 and older Exercise classes put to music Classes Tuesday and Thursday 1-2:30 p.m.. and Thursday night 6-8. Co-Ed Exercise - 18 and older Provides men and women a fun way to g°t into shape again. 6-8 p.m. Weightlifting Providing men and women fun way to get into shape again. Time: Monday and Wednesday. 6-8 p.m. Daytime Exercise Gives women a chance to
exercise together to music during the day. Time: Wednesday and Friday, 9-10:30 a.m. Senior Citizens Adult arts and crafts classes provide an oppor tunity to learn all phases of needlepoint, crocheting, knitting and creating small ceramic articles. Gives an opportunity to meet other people and socialize. Classes are Wednesday and Friday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Recreation Center, and Tuesday. Thursday and Friday 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Millman Center. Tuesday and Thursday are basically set aside for ceramics; Fridays are for arts and crafts at the Millman Center (see below). Soccer Clinic Soccer clinic for all Lower Township boys and girls five-15, held at Maude Abrams school neld, Cold Spring. Parents interested in helping out, are asked to call the Rec. Center at 886-7880. Time: Oct. 12, 19 and 26. 9:30-11:30 a.m. Football There are two football teams: Raiders - Midget League, and Rams - Pee Wee League. Open to all residents of Lower Township only between nine and 13 who weigh between 65-140 pounds and are not above the eighth grade in school. Games are played Sundays, through Nov. 17. There will also be some Friday night games this year. Home field is Lower Cape May Regional football field, Erma. Time: Sunday, Pee Wee starts 12:30 p.m.. Midget game to follow. Friday, Pee Wee starts 6:30 p.m.. Midget game to follow. Millman Center The center, Miami and Bayshore roads. Villas, is open six days a week 8:30 a.m. -3:30 p.m. and 7-10:30 p.m. The center provides kitchen facilities and a large meeting room Non-profit organizations in Lower Township that would like to use this facility can call 886-5552 for information on obtaining a reservation
