Seashore Gardens On Tours
STONE HARBOR - Two Seashore Garden Tours are slated in Stone Harbor and Avalon during the third annual Wings 'N Water Festival, featuring more than 30 events throughout Cape May County. Sept. 21 and 22. The tours will feature a variety of flora gracing gardens of five homes in each community. Visitors will be able to inspect the bountiful plants, flowers, shrubs, trees and bushes that thrive on a barrier island. THE GARDEN tour of Avalon will take place 1 to 4 pm, Saturday. Sept. 21. beginning at the Community Hall. 38th and Avalon Avenue. The following day. Sunday. Sept. 22, the Garden Tour of Stone Harbor will be held from 1 to 4 pm. beginning at the Women's Civic Club, 9th Street and the Beach. Visitors can drive the tour route or ride the trolley that will stop at each garden on the tour. S Quilts Are \ Exhibited At St. Mary's Many beautiful quilts. . designed and handcrafted ^ by the Wetlands Institute ^ "Needlers" will be on S display at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 95th and Third Ave.. Stone Harbor for the Wings "n Water ^ Festival. This new attraction will feature the 1985 Wetlands Institute "The Delaware Bay" quilt, designed byMarion Glaspey and produced by the "Needlers '. The quilt, which will be raffled in October to benefit the Institute's education programs, is the fourth quilt designed by Miss Glaspey. The three other quilts, won by lucky people, have been loaned to the Festival for display. OTHER ITEMS ON DISPLAY will be quilts made by individual I members of the I "Needlers." These I talented ladies have I graciously donated their I own quilt collections for I this special exhibit. Quilt I dealers from Ocean City I and Cape May will also be I on hand with books, fabrics I and other quilting supplies. The exhibit will be open I Saturday 10-5 and Sunday I 11-4 and is included with I the one time admission fee I Chances for the 1985 quilt I will be available for $1 per I chance.
