B Top Wildlife Art To Be Exhibited

World class wildlife and maritime artists, renowned bird carvers and other artisans will display their exquisite works Saturday and Sunday during the New Jersey Wings N Water 'Festival. Visitors will • have the pleasure of viewing some of the country's finest paintt ings and carvings, displayed by noted artisits who will compete in art and carving shows during the two-day festival. For the past two years, over 50 merchants in downtown Stone Harbor . have been competing for prizes for the Decorated Window Contest, sponsored by the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce. Past winners have included the Clothes Cove. Artisans Three, and Pier 66. for their displays THE THEME for this year's festival and window displays is "a celebration of the natural resources of the coast" Windows will be - decorated with scenes of the shore, including plants and animals native to the area I Judging of the windows I will be headed by Father ■ Wesley Martin of Stone I Harbor, and will take place I at 1 p.m. tomorrow The I Festival will award first. Ducks Unlimited, and a member of "Who's Who in Waterfowl Art", will also attend the festival displaying his water colors of wildlife. IN ADDITION, artists and craftsmen will vie for cash prizes in an art show, and visitors will have the opportunity to purchase paintings and carvings. First prize this year is $500, donated by Dr. and Mrs. Stitz of Stone Harbor and the Monaghan Tire Co of Rio Grande, second prize is $250 from Sandpiper Art Galerie of Stone Harbor, and the third prize of $100 was donated from The Olive Tree, also of Stone Harbor Moreover, a $200 special prize has been donated by the William Ris Galleries in Stone Harbor to purchase a painting that will be given to the Wetlands Institute, the host of the Wings N Water Festival.

Flea Mart Slated for Ct. House COURT HOUSE - A massive 200-table Wings n Water Flea Market is being • planned for Saturday and Sunday at Jamesway Plaza. Route 9 and Dennisville Road. The activity is one of . many events in three com- ' munities planned for the weekend as part of the NewJersey Wings 'n Water Festival, a benefit for the Wetlands Institute. Thousands of items, including hunting, fishing and other sporting equipment. books, gifts, and clothing will highlight the two-day bonanza, located at the best traffic crossroads of the county.
