Cape May Offers Aquatic Program

ICAPE MAY — An extensive aquatic program will be offered by the city as part of the fall recreation schedule The Infant Swim Class for ages 2 and under is designed to educate parents, as well as teach babies basic survival skills in the water. "" T A book is included in this | class, which will take place \ 4:30-5:00 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. s The Tiny Tots Swim Class I for ages 3-5 covers the basics of water adjustment, with the child being accompanied in the pool by a . I parent or guardian Classes S will be held 5-5:30 p.m. and ^ | 5:30-6 p.m Wednesday and ' j Friday. There will be a Saturday class 10-11 a.m. THE CHILDREN Learn I To Swim Class for ages 6-13 covers swimming instruc11 ion from Beginner through ! advanced levels. Three j classes are held Tuesday 4-7 I p.m There will be a Saturday class from 1 1 a.m. -noon. An Adult Learn To Swim

Class for 14 and up is a basic » course designed to teach the f beginner to swim and serve as a review for the more acr complished swimmer. This class is offered 5-6 p.m. i Monday. ; A Lifesaving Class for 15 years and up is an American ; Red Cross certified advanct ed lifesaving course It will require pool work and classroom instruction. The class •, will be held Saturday noon-3 • p.m. A SCl'BA Class for 12 and up is a nationally certified i NAl'I course which consists i of 32 hours of instruction I plus two final dives. The I class will give the swimmer i a proper introduction to equipment use and ocean i environment. Upon sucI cessful completion students will receive a certifieatE'and i a card verifying a passing effort. The course will be held 6:30-10:30 p.m. Tuesday. All of the courses in the aquatic program are held at the Cape May Elementary School on Lafayette Street Registration for these courses will be next week beginning Sept. 23. Call the Department of Civic Affairs at 884-84 1 1 . ext. 20 and 27 for further information Volleyball Meetings CAPE MAY - The city will hold organizational meetings for the 1985-K6 volleyball leagues, with the Men's Power League for the more experienced players meeting 6:30 p.m Tuesday. Sept 24. and the Men's Recreation league at 7: 15 p.m The Women's Power league for more experienced players will meel 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Sept 25. The Women's Recreation League will meet 7:15 p.m the same day.
