I) C - Congressmen Bill Hughes 1 D-NJ » and Jim Saxton < RN'J 1 have called on the administrator of the L'.S Environmental Protection Agency to prohibit Boston from dumping its sewage sludge at a site 106 miles off the New Jersey coast "Ensuring clean and safe water must be a top priority for Congress and the administration." Hughes and Saxton said in their letter "Permitting yet another state to dispose of its waste off the Jersey shore would do little to achieve this goal " The action follows the filing of a preliminary application to the EPA by the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, requesting permission to dump sludge into 106-mile site.
