S.J. Christian Has 3 New Teachers
ERMA — Three additional teachers joined the South Jersey Christian Academy faculty as the school opened recently for its seventh year of operation. The new faculty members are: Mrs. Barbara Thrash, who teaches fifth grade; Robert C. Quay, who teaches seventh-eighth; and James C. Thrash, who teaches sixth grade and is also the school's new pricipal. Barbara liirash comes to SJCA with 10 years teaching experience at the elementary level. She has taught in public and Christian day schools in McAHen, Corpus Christi, and Kingsville, Texas. SHE HOLDSa B.A degree in Elementary Education from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She has also studied at the University of Texas, Austin. She most recently resided in Charlottesville, VA., from which she moved with her husband. James, so that they could both take positions on the SJCA faculty. The Thrashes have two sons: Paul who is in the U.S. Army; and Philip, a graduate student at Oral Roberts University. Robert C. Quay joins the SJCA faculty with some 27 years of teaching experience behind him, most recently at the Margaret Mace School in North Wildwood. Quay holds a B.A. degree from Ursinus College in Pennsylvania, and has an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. AFTER COLLEGE he was involved in an industrial and commercial real estate business. In the mid-1950's he came to feel that "my life's work was teaching", and moved into the educational field. He took his certification work at Rutgers and Glassboro, and has taught in Bordentown, Cherry Hill, at Atlantic Community College, and at Margaret Mace. He taught at Margaret Mace 1970-1984, and resides in North Wildwood. James C. Thrash, teacher and principal, has some 18 years experience in public and Christian In Trial Contest Local high school students will become attorneys, witnesses and jurors for the day during a county-wide mock trial competition sponsored by the Cape May County Bar Association and the New Jersey State Bar Association. The local competition will be held in January and February of 1986. Winners of the county competition advance to a regional competition. North and South Jersey winners compete in a state-wide competition held at the New Jersey Supreme Court. Any students or teachers interested in the program can contact Joseph C. The three new teachers bring the South Jersey Christian Academy faculty up to full strength at eight members, with classroom instruction in separate grades kindergarten through sixth, and a single combined class for seventh-eighth. SJCA is an in-
terdenominational evangelical Christian day school, located in the Tabernacle Church complex in Erma. It is operated independently of that church, having its own in- I terdenominational board of directors representing various church and vocational backgrounds. There are currently classroom openings at all grade levels.
