Alcoholism Conference
RIO GRANDE - A four- j day workshop. 1 •Alcoholism and the Family," will be held 9:30 a.m. -4 « p.m. Oct. 7 and 8 and Nov. 7 ,
and 8 at the County Social Building here. The conference is cosponsored by the Coalition Against Rape and Abuse
(CARA) and the state Division of Youth and Family Services. An attendance of 35-40 is expected, including staff members of the sponsoring agencies as well as other service professionals. THE CONFERENCE will be a comprehensive multimedia activity-based workshop. It is designed to explore the dynamics of alcohol and other drug dependencies. Existing communitybased resources and referral sources will be explored. The building of local community networks among county agencies will be one of the major goals. Robert Randall, certified alcoholism counselor, who is director of the Maryville Rehabilitation Center, Glassboro, will be the program facilitator. Also taking part will be Gary Abraham, CAC, treatment director at the Maryville 4 facility. For further information on the program, contact Tim Albrecht, 886-1105.
