Vaudeville Victorian Style CAPE MAY - The MidAtlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) will celebrate Cape May's Victorian heritage with two shows. "Victorian Vaudeville" and "Song. Verse and Worse." as part of its 10-day Victorian Week . "Victorian Vaudeville" will recreate stage shows dating back to the turn of the century. It will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Cape May's Convention Hall. Elizabeth Arnold, accomplished actress and vocalist, will be the star of "Victorian Vaudeville", entertaining the audience with song and dance. MS. ARNOLD will be accompanied by Nurit Tilles. a ragtime pianist, and Robert Torkova. an oldtime magician. Joyce Reed, known for her onewoman shows, will combine British comedy, drama and music to authenticate the Victorian era. "Song. Verse and Worse" will present a humorous look at a 19th Century evening in the parlor. It will be held 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Oct 19 at the Cape Island Baptist Church. A FIVE-MEMBER team from the Mid-Atlantic Center will provide music, readings and a magic lantern show. Lucy Henry will charm the audience with an array of Victorian songs, such as "Bird in a Gilded Cage" and Ta-Ra-Ra-Boom-Deeay". Evie McCoy. Bruce Minnix and Vance Enck will recite pieces of Victorian literature.
